With the man of the hour, Leonardo Reyes. Some of his collectors include Noli De Castro, John Henry Lhullier, Mikey Arroyo, Lucio Tan, International Petroleum Co., and Zest Air Philippines.
He told me he started painting around 15 years ago, which is why he can finish a very large and very detailed watercolor painting in less than a week’s time. Impressive and inspiring!
My favorite work in his Caress of Watercolors exhibit is called, “Eclipse”. It illustrates 2 koi fishes swimming side by side, flat against a blank background. Simple yet it leaves one feeling mesmerized.
Apt rookie expression for attending my first by-invitation exhibit. Witnessed how an opening night goes for the artist and collectors; spoke to curators and absorbed a lot in a very short period of time. Grateful and looking forward to more exhibits to learn from. (And hopefully have better photos, too.)
