Acrylic on 24×36″ canvas
A piece designed for a friend’s call for donations for an exhibit about Violence Against Women.
Look at the severity of damage a woman faces in the midst of violence. Bruises filled with color, the colors that from then on would define her past, its wounded clouds of memory imprinted on her, physically and emotionally.
And yet she continues to be alive, to be beautiful; she continues to be a woman. She continues to be a warrior, even with the battle scars that have marred her as a human being, she continues to live on, not discouraged nor in shame, rather embracing her scars that would transform her into becoming a woman of strength for the rest of her life.
